Magic is believing in yourself. If you can do that, you can make anything happen.
-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Stress is an overwhelming epidemic in our lives.
Our world has become increasingly fast-paced with the demand to always be connected, and an ever-changing social climate. Life can feel pretty out of control.
Did you know that the more chronic stress we are under, the more our mind and body understand this to be a normal state?!
And did you know that the more stressed we are, the faster our brain and cells age and the more we are apt to gain weight?!
AND, did you know that the longer we are stressed, the more likely we are to develop anxiety, which can often lead to states of depression?
This is not good news!
I know, I know…isn’t everyone stressed?! Yeah, probably to some degree. However, some people have different resiliencies or abilities to curb their stress, and the others… well, we choose not to deal with it because it’s “normal” and “not that big of a deal.” In fact, it is so minimized by us that we would rather wait until something really bad happens to then decide if we want to do something about it, and even then we don’t like to hear that it is stress related. We would rather be told we have a brain tumor than hear that we can’t remember things well because we’re stressed out.
But, do you want to know the good news?
There are proven ways to combat the effects of stress on your mind and body that help you shift your perspective and reset that stress set point so that your body no longer believes that should be a normal state. Instead, our mind and body learn that a more peaceful state is normal, leaving you happier and more aligned with the life you desire.
And remember, the longer we put things off the more expensive the fix is–this is true for anything!
